Spring 2005 Announcements

5/22/05 The final exam and solutions have been posted.

5/2/05 We have posted copies of the notes from the May 1 final exam review with the lecture notes.

5/1/05 Quiz 12 solutions and post-mortems for Quizzes 11 and 12 have been posted. Check to make sure you have the latest version of Quiz 11 solutions.

4/29/05 Final Exam review session will be 2-7 pm in Strosacker Auditorium. Pizza (20 belly busters) from the Rascal House and pop/water will arrive approximately 4:30 pm.

4/29/05 Makeup HW Solutions posted on the HW page as a study aid for the final.

4/27/05 Final exam formula sheet link fixed.

4/22/05 Lecture notes are now complete. Final exam solutions have been fixed to show symbol fonts properly.

4/16/05 Lab #12 is due Wednesday April 20th in class.

4/16/05 A new section "Final Exam" has been added to the "Class Info" menu. It contains two pdf's of last year's final exam: one with solutions and one without solutions.

4/16/05 HW 13 on transients has been posted. This homework has provided for study purposes only; it is not to be handed in.

4/12/05 The final Exam is Tuesday May 3rd from 8:30-11:30am in Strosacker Auditorium. The syllabus has been updated to correctly show this date everywhere.

4/9/05 HW12 has been updated so the Figure for problem 4 would display properly.

4/9/05 Make Up HW assignment is due this Friday (4/15) in class.

4/3/05 The Lab section of the Web page contains the complete derivation of the bandpass filter for Lab 11. Also, there is a small error in the 2004 Lecture Notes on Page 99. The first term on the right hand side of the equation just above the Bode plot should be log(wR2C) instead of log(wR1C). The Bode plot also assumes that w1=1/(R1C) is less than wc=1/(R2C). This will be explained in more detail in class Monday.

4/3/05 Labs 11 and 12 plus supplemental material have been posted. The lecure postings are up to date.

3/31/05 HW 11 has been posted. A special Make Up homework assignment has also been posted.

3/28/05 HW 10 solutions have been posted. Lecture notes have been updated as of today. If someone could give me a copy of their notes for Lecture #24 it would be appreciated as I have lost mine and consequently cannot post anything for Lecture #24 on line.

3/28/05 Quiz 9 solutions plus some additional post mortems have been posted. Up to Lecture #30 is posted on-line.

3/22/05 Quiz 7 and 8 solutions have been posted. Lectures are up to date with the exception of Lecture #24.

3/12/05 A draft version of Lab 8 has been posted on the Web page. Any changes will be minor.

3/7/05 Mid-Term grades were sent to the Registrar. Grade computations will be discussed in class.

3/1/05 Quiz 6 solutions have been updated -- there was an error in the solution for problem 1. Lecture notes are up to date. HW7 solutions have been posted on the Web page.

2/14/05 Quiz 4 solutions are posted. We have updated the quiz solutions to show how many points were taken off for each mistake.

2/13/05 Password access (given out in class) is now needed to download any solutions from this course Web site.

2/11/05 NEW HOMEWORK POLICY - HW ASSIGNMENTS ARE TO BE TURNED IN AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS.

2/9/05 HW4 solutions have been posted. HW5 and Lab 5 have been posted.

2/9/05 Blackboard grade update: Quiz 1, Quiz 2, HW1, HW2, HW3, Lab1, Lab2 and Lab 3 grades should be completely entered and appear correctly in Blackboard. If you have missing or incorrect grades please contact your TA as soon as possible. Quiz 3 grades are still being entered so do not worry if your Quiz 3 grade is missing at this time.

2/8/05 Lectures notes for Lectures 10 and 11 have been posted.

2/8/05 We do not enter all the grades for any assignment at once. Each grader enters the papers they graded individually. As a result it can be several days before an entire assignment is graded and entered into Blackboard. Blackboard starts displaying statistics as soon as a single grade is entered. Please do not worry about missing grades for a particular assignment until we tell you all the grades for that assignment have been entered.

2/7/05 There is a typo in HW #4. Problem 3-20 appears twice. Simply drop the problem 3-20 under node analysis but keep Problem 3-20 under mesh analysis as problem 3-20 is a mesh analysis problem. We actually wanted to assign you problem 3-19 which can require a supernode. You might want to review this problem before the quiz.

2/2/05 Homework 3 solutions were posted at 8pm.

1/26/05 We continue to have problems with Blackboard. As of this afternoon the classlist should be correct. If you cannot log into Blackboard for ENGR 210 please contact Prof. Merat. Quiz 1 grades should all be entered and Quiz 2 grades are now being entered.

1/26/05 The grader and lab ta contact information has been updated. The syllabus has been replaced with a final syllabus.

1/26/05 The course policy for late assignments has been finalized:

• Labs are due no later than 15 minutes after the lab section starts. You will lose 10% per day for late labs unless arrangements are made with your lab ta.
• Homework is due at the end of class on the assigned due date. Homework may also be dropped off at Glennan 518 (Prof. Merat's office) until 11am of that day. Homework received after 11am will not be accepted or graded.
• There will be no makeups for missing individual quizzes. However, special makeup quizzes will be available at least twice during the semester for those having reasonable absences. You must receive permission in advance from Prof. Merat to take these makeup quizzes.

1/26/05 Graded homework and quizzes may be picked up in Glennan 308. Check the shelves to the right of the laser printer.

1/26/05 We are having Blackboard problems which we expect to have fixed tonight. As soon as this is fixed *ALL* Quiz #1 grades will be posted —- only some are currently listed.

1/22/05 Homework 2 and Lab 2 have been posted. We have been having problems with access to the Web page and apologize for the delays in posting these assignments.

1/19/05 Students coming late to quizzes or who need extra time will be able to take the weekly quizzes in Rockefeller 304 during the normal class times.

1/17/05 Go to your scheduled lab section in Glennan 308 this week. You will be given an introduction to the lab instruments and assigned into laboratory groups.This is independent of the Lab 1 you are doing this week.
