December 16, 2005

Case Western Reserve University

Objectives:

  • Increase mutual understanding of research being conducted in Northeast Ohio.
  • Establish research collaborations and a joint vision resulting in peer-reviewed publications and externally funded research.
  • Leverage on complementary expertise and infrastructure to build larger and more ambitious research programs.

Meetings. OhioICE is organizing a series of informal meetings of Northeast Ohio researchers to foster better collaborations. The primary objective for these workshops is to provide a forum that would lead to collaborative research resulting in peer-reviewed publications and externally funded research in areas related to Instrumentation, Control, and Electronics.

The format of the meeting includes a sequence of short presentations on current research followed by discussion and break-out sessions on topics of interest to the participants.

Call for Presentations. Attendees are encouraged to contribute a short position paper  that introduces their current research and identifies opportunities for collaboration. These submissions will allow participants to select a break-out session to focus on one or more related themes.   Please, forward your contribution by   December 2, 2005 to vincenzo.liberatore@case.edu. All position papers would be published electronically on the OhioICE Web site (for members). You are welcome, but are not required, to use the attached template.

Location & Registration. The first meeting will be hosted by Case Western Reserve University on December 16, 2005 from 10am-1pm in Olin 408 (working lunch included).

Registration is required and free.  To register for this meeting send your contact information by December 14, 2005 to j.hundt@csuohio.edu & jekleinhenz@prodigy.net.
